Telegram Active Sessions: Check Your Devices
Telegram active sessions help you review where your account is signed in. If you have used an old laptop or a borrowed device, take a moment to check account access before starting a personal conversation.
Make a short list of your own devices
Think about where you actually use the account. Include a computer you use occasionally, since an infrequent session can be easy to forget. You do not need to recognise every technical label immediately, but each listed session should have an explanation.
An unfamiliar location label alone may not tell the whole story. Networks can make location information imprecise. Look at the device details and timing together before deciding whether an entry is yours.
Review sessions through the real app
Open the account controls directly. Telegram’s account security help describes reviewing access and ending sessions. Follow the current instructions for your version of the app.
Do not log in through a message claiming to show you a suspicious session. That message could be the attempt to gain access. If you want to investigate, start from the app you already use or type the official address yourself.
Remove access you no longer need
A device you sold or gave away should not keep access to a personal account. The same applies to a shared computer you no longer use. Review the available sign-out controls and keep a trusted device accessible while making changes.
If a session looks suspicious, follow the provider’s current recovery guidance. Check two-step verification as part of that review. Changing a profile name or photo does not secure the login behind it.
Set a habit around device changes
You do not need to inspect the list after every conversation. Tie the check to events you can remember, such as replacing a phone or finishing a stay where you used someone else’s computer. That makes the review easier to keep up.
Does closing a browser tab sign me out?
Do not assume it does. Use the sign-out control when you finish on a shared device, and check account sessions if you want to confirm access has ended.
What if I cannot access the account?
Use official recovery help. A stranger who promises to recover the account in exchange for a code or payment should not receive your login details. Our scam guide explains the warning signs.
